| Description of Project: | In this stitching and brainstorming class, we will make a notebook of samples of various stitches for creating effects involving water, snow and ice. While we will be using these stitches with particular reference to painted canvases, the techniques learned will be useful in a variety of techniques. Twenty-four stitches will be worked in class, but the book will contain many more variations for further experimentation. We will discuss naturalistic, whimsical and abstract shading to create realistic effects. Varying stitches and threads with dozens of alternatives for every situation will be discussed. Both solid and open canvas variations will be covered. Show and tell is an integral part of this class. | |
