Class Length: 2 days
Proficiency Level: All levels. Must know basketweave and continental stitches
Description of Project: In this stitching and brainstorming class, we will make a notebook of samples of various stitches perfect for foliage and flowers, including a variety of leaf variations, eyelet stitches, double stitch, crossed variations and more. Twenty-four stitches will be worked in class, but the book will contain many more variations for further experimentation. We will discuss naturalistic, whimsical and abstract shading to create realistic effects. Varying stitches and threads will create dozens of alternatives for every situation discussed. Both solid and open canvas variations will be covered. Show and tell is an integral part of this class.
Kit Cost: $45, includes 18-count mono canvas, a variety of appropriate threads, and materials to make an extensive notebook
