| Targeted Audience: | This class is intended for the student who loves to combine threads and stitches and who has a Santa she wants to stitch. In this brainstorming class, we will discuss the common areas of Santa's hair, beards, fur, coat, belt, boots and even his twinkly eyes! The booklet provided will provide a selection of stitches customarily used and we will make up more in class! Show and tell is an integral part of this class. Students may bring any Santa canvas to class, and can expect to end up with a stitch guide. Students will be encouraged to bring a canvas on which the Santa is the primary element. | |
| Course Objectives: | We will start from the ground up, talking about threads and color placement, making guided decisions all the way. Show and tell will inspire lots of ideas, with the class discussion being a valuable component of the teaching time. On the second day of class, students who are comfortable with their stitch guide may start stitching. Stitch demonstrations and thread choices will be discussed. Part of the learning experience is experiencing making up a stitch guide and learning from the resources available. | |
