Silk Shading from the Royal School of Needlework

The Royal School of Needlework has used their own method of realistic silk shading since the time of Queen Victoria. This program is a series of step-by-step slides and samples of completed work showing exactly how this exquisite technique is achieved.

Optional: Students can bring Congress cloth or muslin mounted on a 6" x 6" stretcher bars or a 5" hoop, and three shades of any color cotton floss to try the technique. If you do this, teacher will bring appropriate needles.
