Painted canvas

Class Description:

The hardest thing to create on a painted canvas is creating the illusion of realistic dimension, of realistic perspective. This is done using texture and
lack of texture, creating those effects both with thread and stitches. The class will begin with an intense discussion of the theory of design as it
relates to painted canvases. We will concentrate on areas of painted canvases that need dimension in order to be successful. Before class, student
will be asked to prioritize areas of his or her canvas. Learn about specific threads, their uses and choose threads that will enhance their canvas. We
will study stitches and how to manipulate them. This is not a class where Carole will write a stitch guide for the student, either in advance of the class
or during the class. This is a class that will teach each student to confidently pick stitches and to create the illusion of realism on any canvas.
